A condescending attitude has no place in reasoned discussion. If you have a point to make, make it. Do not insult other members or attempt to belittle their arguments by using ad hominem attacks.

Once again, keep domestic politics out of the discussion and none of this country vs. country discussion either. This is a discussion on the Nobel Peace Prize.

    Double post, I know...

Did you know Frank Kellogg was awarded the prize for initiating and negociating the infamous BRIAND-KELLOGG pact in the 1920's?

If that doesn't say it all...

Just thought I'd share that with you folks.

See post #53 by Abakker. Spot on. I also agree with Eduleics.

As for Knuckles not caring to see Europe! lol OMG. I hope you change your mind one day - whether its the history of London, the beauty of France, the art of Italy, the grandeur of Prague, the breathtaking views in Switzerland, the freedom of Amsterdam, the love for life in Spain... you truly have missed a great part of civilization if you haven't toured Europe. No continent should go unexplored before your time is up.

Yes, Americans are treated well most places... but being European, and specifically, English... there were 8 years where American politics was an oxymoron... now the American President is, quite frankly, the envy of the world. Enjoy it while you have it - this won't be his last international commendation, I'm sure.

And yet a few more things he didn't accomplish.

The majority of his accomplishments are issuing guidelines and releasing his vision for something. This does not mean those issues are being handled, it only means he has looked at them and has put forth his opinion in a guideline of how he thinks things should be worked out, or in a vision of what he thinks should happen.

I think Obama will be a good president. I mean if he had got this like 3 years into his presidency and he'd done something then yes he deserves it but at the moment no.
