Thread: Goal of the game?

    Default Goal of the game?

    hey,

so i just joining this game a couple days ago and seem to be doing fairly well...BUT i'm wondering about the goal or point of the game? its hard to create a strategy if you dont know the goal.

i played TW alot and the goal was ultimately to conquor the world. you could do this as part of your aliance or an individual if you were really good.

im confused though because i think there is a limit to the number of towns you can own? if so....whats the point of the game after you max out your towns? (10 is it?). if you cant continue to conquor after that point, what is the next thing you are supposed to be doing? whats your purpose? all i can tink of after that is to just make a larger army, but that sounds borning. you can continue to wage war alongside your aliance, but there can be no winner to wars if everyone has 10 towns right? whats the point of fighting if no one can be killed off?

pls help. im confused, lol. always been a premium paying user of every browser game ive played, but between not knowing what the point of this game is and the prices they are asking for insignificant things in this game, im not sure i want to contribute as a premiium user yet.

    cheers

bump...anyone? whats the goal/point of the game?

im startng to loose faith in wanting to play this, between the seemingly lack of gameplay after building building 10 towns....and all these bugs im starting to find out about after reading the forums. :? sad.

are there no mods here helping people out who want to pay, but have questions before buying their product?

It's seek and destroy basically. You're trying to build up your village, build up your defense/attack/troops, and conquer other players bit by bit. It's a glorified war game.

    Compliments of the wonderful Warsimi!

    the goal...... Don't die?

That's after you progress so far in the game, you just run out of things to do, even attacking other players. You eventually might clear out everyone around you, and you have to use teleports then if you wish to fight people. After 1-2 months, the game becomes very stale.

As for purchasing things, I can only say be careful. Be sure to read all the packages fully, and more or less buy at your own risk.

Well, I'm tired of these forums. Very little humor in them anymore. Adios all.

Because this is an MMO, there really isn't an endgame as such.
You are right, you can only have ten towns and once you have reached a certain point, there isn't much more to do.
Some players will keep at least one spare city slot, just to capture towns from players and turn them into npc's. Some alliances do seek to be dominant on their server, either by breaking other alliances down, or making them become sub-alliances of their own.

The combat mechanics are just tricky enough to keep a person thinking for a fair while and I doubt if anyone is 100% sure of every scenario's outcome.

If I were you I would try it for a while, see what you think. You might want to spend a bit of money here and there, but most things can be done for free.

    thanks for the replies!

you guys kind of confirmed what i was worried about. it see,s like a really fun game and very well put together with flash...it makes it more cosmetically interesting to play. i used to play tw alot, the best part about that game is that even though the beginning was fun from a learnign standpoint like this game is, the more you play it the more intense it gets!

they offered premium user services which gave an advanced user interface which made the mid-late game part more chewable as far as keepign on top of all the things you needed to be doing. i happily paid for it and would have paid more money for one-off items such as evony sells...although i think eveony is asking FAR too much, so i wont be buying those type of items here.

gameplay should really start to become intense after two month..not get stake, because that is when then new players typically start to move on to other games/servers or just quit altogether. who is left are the addicted players, the 'hard core' players. those are the guys that are going to be willing to pay for monthly premium services...over and over and over for years. im one of those. i dont pay 24/7, but ill stay loyal to a game for years, np. and pay whatever it takes if i feel im getting somethign out of it and value for my money. i used to spend about $80 a onth on a game called knight online, did for about 1 year. i stopped though cause they eventually let cheaters ruin the game and the bugs became worse and worse.

so anyways, thanks for th info guys.

there are a coupe things that are a must have before ill pay to play for a game, outside of a boxed game.

    1. the game has to work, very little bugs
    2. the gameplay has to have stages, where it never ends and becomes more interesting on a strategic level as it advances.
    3. the community has to be well thought out (where are the alliance forums in this game?)
    4. value for my dollar. i dont need an unfair advantage over the free 2 play payers, but i want some kind of value in some form...increased drop rate for metals? better user interface to handle multiple attack fronts? increased building que, cant premium players not have the option to que up 5 buildings before they go to bed?

awesome game! i think they have the best browser game on the market right now....BUT, and a big BUT..is that it feels so unfinished. like they started with a great idea and never thought past the first 2 months game play. or thoguht about the community enough, or thoght about what people would want to pay for enough...they got a perfect START to this...i hope evony2 or whatever its called i read about addresses these topics. the game would be perfect then.

there are other games out there, free 2 play that are raking in money from a huge percentage of the players...i dont know the end $ result...but alot of players are premium users. the devs from evony should play those games and understand why some of them look terrible, look 20 years old. tw graphics suck, but the gameplay is incredible! this game could pwn all the other browser games by a long shot if they added the features that made the other games so addicting and fun to play!

    cheers

    1) report em as you find em.
    2) have you heard about flying battle cities yet?
    3) no alliance forums. But some enterprising players are finding their own. That would lead to more lag. Diplomatic servers are still available, I think, by world.
    4) you can buy the medal boxes outright. Might be nice to be able to buy them 1 by 1. Maybe a feature suggestion on your part? I'd like to see a dedicated server for the payers. Kind of hard killing noobs by the score, get down to tolerable lag, and find new ones coming in. Or placed there from other worlds. GRRRRRR.

    Anyways, welcome to evony,
    good luck and good hunting,
    Pitchwife.

You have pretty much summed it up.
Are you sure you haven't been playing this game since beta? lol.
Those of us who have been around for a while have been asking for some more depth for a long time. We all hope age2 has a lot of the issues fixed.
    PEACE
