I agree that the medal drop rate is lousy and it is a deliberate tactic for them to squeeze as much money out of people as possible, and I will hold my hand up and say that I did buy coins for my early medals (the ones that are hardest to drop). But they are not fools and they will not believe for a second that if they up the drop rate you will buy game coins. Once you have all the medals you need there is less need to buy game coins, the only things I find useful buying now are war horns, corselets and penicillin if I am not lucky enough to get them on the rolls.

I personally think they adjust the drop rates per server depending on the amount of income they are getting from the server. They will balance if finely to get the most out of people.

Right or wrong that is just the way it is. I wish you luck in your campaign but I dont think it will really sway them as long as people still play the game and someone somewhere buys coins.
The thing they should look at is while they might get some people to end up paying for the medals, that most will just say screw that and quit. If they want a very active game base they should have put the pain in the "blank" medal farming a little later in the game than having players hit a progression wall at 2 cites. Fankly this game is fun, but it's not worth paying to play.
