This is either a question or General discussion, but to answer your question, they are both ridiculosuly expensive

Battering Rams you use to take the damage while another ranged unit comes in and firess unquestioned.

Catapults are waaay to slow. It would take them 6 rounds to get in range with level 10 HBR against Level 10 Archery + 10 Wall's AT's. Catapults are good in defesne though.
