Orange Small losses, but may be neccessary.
Red Dangerous combination, could result in defeat.
I think the main reason why this table confuses people is that it requires a couple of qualifiers.
Those are that this table relates to farming npc level 5 towns (and level 4 as well? Not sure but from memory there's a jump in requirements from 3 to 4.)
It would also pay to put a number of ballistas that is in the safe range (around 500 always works for me) and mention the other techs, such as military tradition and iron working, etc.
To a new player it looks confusing and is always presented without much explanation of what you are looking at.
I have put my own colour code on to try to show what I mean.
Almost all the combinations I have left black I would delete as they are pretty much made obsolete if players aim for the first sweet spot.
