Because I'm not sure this is a good idea. What will happen is people will be reporting threads and posts they'll see as spam which Moderators will NOT see as such.

And then the complaining will start about Mods not listening and blah, blah, blah...
Well if that happens then one moderator should contact the user who sent in the report and explain why they believe the thread should not be deleted or closed, perhaps one can convince the other of their viewpoint and everything can be settled. If not, then you still shouldn't be overacting about a single post that isn't deleted. You should just move on.
