Honor medals, just wanted to inform that I got one from a lvl1 npc at server 65.
Uploaded the screenshot... perhaps it will help someone...

So far, I have received all of my honor medals from Lv. 1 NPCs with 60 ballistae and 100 transporters sent there... (I was too lazy to look up the numbers, so I sent the wrong amount)
If you fail with the other NPCs, try that.
Quit Evony (and Forums) 8/18/2010
Periodically returns, but spends most of time on reddit.
I've tried all the various methods that I could find both in these forums and on a number of Evony information sites with different degrees of success.
Different degrees of little or no improvement in drop rate that is.
I'm beginning to think though that there is merit in what people are saying that the 'medal you need drops less'.
Too many have commented on this phenomena for it to be coincidental.
I need another 10 honour medals to for the title of Viscount and promotion to General.
Fair enough I've got the 5 needed to make General.
But it's interesting that in the 3 days since I got the 5th not a single honour has dropped, only Lion medals from level 4 NPCs.
In the meantime I've accumulated enough Courage, Wisdom & Freedom for the next three title advancements from level 5 NPC's. Could this be because I don't actually "need" them at present?
Who knows.
Anyway on my server Honour medals are as rare as Frog's Feathers, as is evidenced by the comments in both Alliance and World chat.![]()
"But it's interesting that in the 3 days since I got the 5th not a single honour has dropped, only Lion medals from level 4 NPCs".
That exact same thing happened to me when the qualifying medal for General dropped.
3-5 days of 0 honor medals went by so i stared to use the list method and a few finally started popping up. When i only needed like one or two more i accidentally claimed General instead of the daily Ammy.
They seemed to drop at a much higher rate from that point on but that could've been because i was farming them more efficiently w/ the list.
That said, i'm not sure if the drop rate can be changed Merlyn.
Honor Medals: I needed 15 total last week to go higher than Baron. Got all 15 in two days (Thursday through Saturday) from level 10 forests on server 68.
Sorry, I'm at work atm and haven't had time to read through the entire topic. But as I just stated, I went for level 10 Forests. I got the idea from this:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/lv?ke...w&f=true&gid=0
I got a medal at least one in every 3-5 hits, not always honor medals though. I went from 4 cities to 8 cities in 2 days, lol.
The spreadsheet posted above is not my work, but going by the Overview page, it was quite accurate. The high level valleys have great drop medal rates. As stated in the original post I found that in, if you scout valleys and attack only the ones with no archers or cavalry, you can send an appropriate amount of archers with no rainbows needed and wipe them out, zero losses.
I was able to get medals by just attacking valleys, and by conqeuring/abandoning them, it didn't matter which route. So I got impatient and went with conqeur abandon, regardless of troop composition in the valleys and took quite a few losses over the two days, but I got all of the medals I needed very fast.

So rounds effects your odds? I suppose I should start sending less ballistas because right now I sit around 50 rounds each attack, with 120 attack heros what amount can I send to ensure 100 rounds per run.
I've used the technique of increasing the number of rounds per attack, it seems to increase the chance of a medal slightly.
What I did was keep track of the number of Ballistae I sent and decreased it by 10, then watched the results.
Keep on dropping by 10 per set of waves until you get the number of rounds to as close to 100 as possible.
