    Lightbulb Spy Paranoia!

    xD
I just got kicked from an alliance for accusations of spying. Even the host has a shadier character than I do. roflol Second time this happened to me.

Yes, I know spies are bad and underhanded tactics.
Yes, I know spies r EVIL! (even more so than bunnies)
But, do you really expect honest members to be "spies"?
    (I didn't spy - truth)

Seriously, get a hold of yourself, Evony alliances.

If you're an alliance host, try to actually ask your members if they're accused instead of just kicking them out.
If you're a member, try to get into an alliance where you're trusted. If you need someone to stand up for you, mail me.

I've opposed spying from the beginning, but isn't this getting stupid now, with 5 or 6 people getting kicked at a time from major alliances just because they've been part of some other alliance earlier?

Well jus' askin' the member won't achieve a lot.
    "Are you a spy?"
    "No."
    "Can't possibly be a liar!"

And losin' one member is usually the better choice than havin' vital information given out that would bring big pain down on the alliance.
My entire alliance knows the location of the storage city in the alliance; I've done a great deal to keep it secret...but if our enemy found out, they coudl cripple it fast. I would happily prefer to lose one member than have the storage city attacked and all our spare resources stolen and all nearby defendin' cities barbed.
This has happened before on the previous storage city; I don't intend to let it happen on mine.

And I'm not even the host.

It's the same as real life...key information can't be stolen lest you risk losin' it.
Sayin' that, a lot of alliances will share information freely across the alliance, so anyone who is a spy can easily get access to it.
We share information based on a trust/rank basis, so lower rank (and I don't mean prestige rank) members, newer members or generally less trusted members can't get hold of important details, whereas long time trusted members can.

Although we're still at risk of spy attacks, it rarely happens and we have a handle on it.

I didn't mean it that way. I meant asking as in confronting them, and unless they can provide evidence, kicking them.
You show them the evidence you have against them and ask them to disprove it.

Yes, I can see the danger, but look at it from both points of view. Would it be fair to a honest member?

In the higher-ranked alliances it has.
Both alliances that kicked me for "spying" were in top 15.

Confrontin' them, yeah...but ultimately there's no real evidence you can give one way or the other to prove either one of you and since they have the kick-power it really jus' all comes down to how much they trust your word. And like I said...most folk would rather lose one member they don't trust 100% than get nuked by an enemy.

The more you have, the more you have to lose. I don't blame them. If they're actively involved in wars then they should be paranoid.
My alliance is top10 and we're at war with the #1 alliance who has like 4x our total pres and three or four sister alliances....if they found out key details about us they could really rip us apart fast...there's no way we can allow a spy in our ranks.

Well, what is it about you that makes them think you're a spy?

Even if you are not, if you are getting kicked all the time for that reason it is worth investigating.

Not everyone that plays the game is constantly getting kicked.

My involvement in 3 or four other alliances.
It's a domino effect. Quit 1, No. 2 gets suspicious, and it goes on and on.

What you should do is get them to destroy the alliance you came from them. Give them any information you can and help in a war effort against them. Not only will it help encourage them to believe you, but it'll put you in good standin'.

A lot of our members are actually recruited from alliances we've destroyed in the past...no there's no reason to jus' assume that past affiliation alone is evidence that they are a spy.

Well, the alliances are friendly and have been so for a long time.
