Thread: Malware?

  1. #1

    Default Malware?

Hi. I'm researching the subject of malware on the internet. I've run across some blogs which state that Civony installs malware on your computer. Is there any truth to this? Also, if you have any background information on the company that runs Evony, I could use that too. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ted

When you accept to play any game on the internet, you enter into an agreement with the host that allows access to your comp (Your computer has to host some of the information). It is possible for it to do it, but I highly doubt the game itself does it.

If anything has a better chance, it would be iEvony. I don't know enough though to say anything.

Anyways Mircosoft tends to be the company that gets to say what Malware is lol.

Well, I'm tired of these forums. Very little humor in them anymore. Adios all.

I don't know if you ever programmed anything under flash, but one of the deals is that you can't access the person's files or anything on their machine.

That doesn't mean security holes don't exist: http://secunia.com/advisories/produc...ask=advisories. These are patched as quickly as possible, but really, how many people constantly update their Flash player?

This one is fun.. It was released on February 25, 2009 (and it's been patched), but it contains flaws that allow execution of arbitrary code.

That means, yes, viruses can be installed via Flash. Or, at least, via unpatched versions of it, assuming no undiscovered vulnerabilities exist (and that's a pretty big assumption).

I'm not saying that's the case here. The only source I've found that links Evony to malware is Bruce's blog, and it's not particularly reliable, at least not in this instance. No evidence exists that Evony contains, packages, or delivers malware.

Thank you Snuffy. I couldn't have said it better myself.

If you don't know enough to say anything then why do you try to give so much false information by saying if anything has a better chance it would be iEvony?

this is because there is a much much higher chance for there to be malware on an program that has to be downloaded onto you machine...as its easier to put one on..

Thankyou. I was going to ignore that comment, but you so perfectly put the answer down. I don't know much, but I do know enough about computers to be able to say that.
