Its dark for a christmas story. Which isn't the point.

Its an atrocity to take such a classic tale, and twist it, pervert it for the sake of a dollar.

I'm not even sure I'm cool with the way the muppets did it. Although they did a decent job with Treasure Island.

I am guessing you haven't read the original Charles D. Story.

The story is very much intact in all its tellings- because it was written as a play immediately after it was produced. Things that started off as tales on the other hand, like the little mermaid, ended up warped because of the fact they didn't have an actual script.

Also, the script of the new Christmas Carol has been written by the writer of Forrest Gump. So it is probably less boring than the original.
