I didn't mean to feed the beast wildor. It's just a really good example to have in your back pocket for any discussion about morals. I wanted to show off.

was I wrong in stating that, there are many reasons why people obey the laws?
was I wrong in stating that, some people obey the laws because they feel it is the moral thing to do?

I am genuinely confused as to what part of the quote that you posted was i wrong in?

All those other things that you mention , barbarian morals and ultimate sins are something you brought up I never mentioned them in that quote, I`m confused.

I encourage all of you to keep this respectful as this is turning into a very interesting debate.

I might just move this into the O-T.

There are tribes existing today where they partake of an old practice when someone in their family dies. The death causes sorrow in the family. It is totally morally acceptable to spread that sorrow to other members of the tribe, so everyone experiences a period of sadness together. How? By eating another member of the tribe and making their family feel the sorrow of loss.

This is one of the moral justifications for the practice of cannibalism.

It is abhorrent to us, but completely socially acceptable elsewhere. Our society would never allow this reason to justify murder.
You are absolutely correct, morality also differs from group to group within the same culture. In the present culture there are people who obey the laws because they feel it is the moral thing to do.
as for all that eating cannabal stuff I have no idea what that has to do with some people obeying the denial of service law merely because they feel that obeying laws is the moral thing to do.

It has nothing to do with it. I was not defending his rebuttal of your idea. I was merely providing an interesting example I learned in my undergrad days. I was just showing off cool knowledge I know. I was not taking sides.

    lol, oh ok, no problem

There are a lot of kids that play this game and I just think it`s important to let them know that it`s illegal to use that "spam" denial of service thing, because they probably dont know thats it`s illegal they just think its a cool cool spam trick to fill someones mail and freeze their computer.
