Strong alliances consisting of well established members or 'pay to play'(ers) NEED to have a % limit in regards to who they can wage war on, or declare war - as the balance of power is well off tilt - and next to impossible for weaker alliances to counter. Sure I understand with all mmopg games you'll find the nerdy crew who seek to dominate - but the fact is these games are community based, not made for just a few people. To stop the mass walk out I can see happening, it would be worthy for an introduction of say -25%+ in your range as to who you can attack.

Alliances like Swabia sending out in excess of 400k troops to fight an un-manned castle belonging to a far lower ranked player is a disgrace to the game.

    Restart on a newer server.

Also, I really doubt that many people are paying to play this game. Prices are way too high.

eh, would not really solve the problem. I'm sure the site owners can't start up a new server every few months just to keep the balance equal whilst their other servers are dominated by a minority using tactics that seem to be condoned.. It would be easier, cheaper and more efficient to introduce a rank limit on who can and can't be attacked depending on your own rank.

    This creates more problems.
Obtaining such a high prestige that no one can hit you is.... well.... abusive.

    As I said a -25%+ attack range...

Which (for eg) would mean - If you are an alliance ranked no.50 - you could only attack other alliances ranked between 75-25...

that's to easy to abuse really, example: if i were to have a hige number of prestige, i could make an alliance for one member, and ally whit all other one member alliances in the game kill newbies etc.

This is an easy problem to solve and has been done in many community based mmo's, dont make a limit on who an alliance can declare war one, take it to the individual player, so that you can only attack/ be attacked by sum1 25-40% less than you in prestige or you can base it on military power and for those who like a challenge 50-100% prestige above you, that way, the system put in place should allow retaliation by players hit by those who attack them ofc.

I was just going to say the same thing.

While this won't stop an alliance that is organized from sending in one of their smaller prestige players, it would require more forethought and planning, and might end some of the hit-and-run's the uber'leets are making on the newbies.

UMGE apparently does seem concerned over "fairness"...at least, they say that the medal-nerfing was done to make the game "more fair and balanced", so perhaps they will listen here, and implement what most other games have already put in place.

whats the point of a war game if you cant war? thats just dumb. players are supposed to seek total control of there area. alliances are supposed to build up strongholds on the maps are establish boarders.

Swabia alliance is looking to do something epic, control all of Swabia. Thats the whole point of there alliance name. My alliance is based in Lombardy on server 2. We dont accept anyone not in Lombardy. We seek to conquore and dominate all of Lombardy by any means. If you accept us as your overlords in Lombardy, we set you as "Friendly". If you resist, we go to war.

If your being attacked, you have 3 options:
    - Fight back
    - Surrender and ask for peace
    - Retreat / Teleport your city

Diplomacy is a huge part of this game. If a stronger lord in your area has his eyes on you, make a treaty. Maybe even pay tribute in exchange for safety. Thats the price you pay for being weaker. Build your army, get stronger, then raid his cities and get your revenge.

That makes the game fun. Without war, the game would be just another stupid browser games based on a meaningless ranking system where people build up useless cities all day long with no end game goal in sight.

The worst thing a game company can do is nerf ambitions players for the sake of whining weekend warriors. Players with ambition will play for a long time and create a stable community. Weekend warriors will go "ohh shiney!" and run off to the next game when they get bored of sitting still for too long.
