Thread: Evony: not towns but ships.

Default Evony: not towns but ships.

I dunno about you, but I have noticed an interesting and great tactic in battles.
Some players seem to like buying boatloads of cents, fr what ever reason, I dunno, maybe because they lack anything better to do with their sorry lives.

Anyhow these players quickly build up 10 cities and have an alliance. The rule is simple.. must have cities near each other.
    Why?

Because the guys with 10 cities use 9 of them to stock the 10th.
Once it's maxed out on troops, he uses advanced teleporters, and plunks down next to his target. Then starts hammering away.
Meanwhile the 9 cities are storing supplies for the return of the battle ship.
After hitting a few people and getting low on troops, our money spending hero, again advance teleports back to his habour and rebuilds troops.

So, IMO, evony shouldn't be using towns, but instead use battleships.
As the advance teleporters are doing just that, turning owns into battle ships.

A legit but cheap tactic to fight this thogh, is to "build' NPCs in all city flats near your towns.. I'd say fill them all up in a circle up to 100 miles away.
The 100 mile buffer may not prevent an attack, but it gives you time to call for help.

Good suggestion, instead of teleporting to your target, you can navigate your way there –that would make the game more realistic.

I think its a good tactic for those who have the money. Whenever i encounter something like this in games, i try to explain it using the games setting and logic. Example: Evony is a medieval fantasy setting game, adventurers, magic and everything in between is rife. This captain has found some way of manipulating magic to his own needs - literally commanding a fleet of battle cities.

Imagine the horror as you're working away your day on the farm. About to turn in for some much needed rest when a black cloud suddenly materializes a mile away on the flatlands soon followed by a huge monstrous city, readying its hordes of soldiers intent on taking your home.

If they want to waste their money on this then fine. If you are mad about it, don't play the game! Or tele somewhere else.

Flying castles ? Like Howl's Moving Castle, or Laputa - Castle in the Sky?

Is this in Age II ? Where can I find Age II ? I would really like to see that.

Or they could just as easily capture a level 10 NPC close to a potential target and use that as a forward attack base.
