from what it looks like to me Evony has become greedy beyond all comprehension.
as a player that has spent money on multiple servers, and watching them continue to make even more and more servers, they wish to take your money let you quit and get the next batch of players in so they can get there money and then watch them leave and the cycle continues.what are we up to server 92 -93 ? no clean-up maint for multiple months yet website says its run daily kicking players every 3 days min with no pre etc..
take a step back and look you will see what is running evony its the claim they have so many players so sponsers will dish out the big $ to them, run extra $5 packs to squeeze the most out of you before you quit and the next group comes in.
It's been a week, although they need to do it, it's been a week since FB said she would take the concern to someone that could do something. I have tons of inactives around me, so I know the frustration.
If it stays the way it is I will quit server 73 and quit the game completely. The reason is simple. I only have one town which I have maxed out. I can't build a decent sized army because I can't feed it. I can't build another town because I am surrounded by 0 prestige towns. Why am I even bothering to try and keep playing? It's obviously game over. Here's the kicker, before I quit I will destroy all my resource fields and all my army. My town will be there forever because I bought a $5 package but it won't be worth farming. Good luck with that Evony LLC. *middle finger extended*
the theory behind not deleting the ghost accounts is that it will stop none payplayers from creating 2 very large very well armed and protected cities - no NPC farming means no big cities - and mby doing this it will let the payplayers get ahead and be able to handle the massive two city players
its all about creating more dollars for the developrs of the game - protect the payplayers at all costs - and provide the payplayers with good fodder
dont know how it wil play out when there are only a couple of dozen payplayers left on each server - maybe consolidation?
you realize that not getting rid of the inactives means that they cannot put new players on the server, so they have less chance of getting a paying customer? You also realize that they can npc the inactives?

If that's the theory, then it is quite a shoddy one. Our alliance has some non-paying players with two hefty cities and decent armies. It's a real challenge keeping the troops fed... but it's doable.
Additionally, keeping a server choked with non-playing accounts just increases overhead as opposed to income potential. Active players are *infinitely* more likely to spend a little cash now and then than an inactive account is. Each server costs money to run, for bandwidth, colocation fees, etc.. inactives choking a server = less potential income for that server, paying customers leaving, etc = each server is much less profitable than it could be. Which is simply an idiotic business model.
