While explorin' my free tv on yon internets, I found a similar advert to the one we're used to...saucy naked female, virtually no mention of the actually game and a misleadin' slogan.
But no! It wasn't Evony. It was a bright red affair and I thought "did Evony's old ad campaign catch on or is this some kind of a joke?"
I clickied the link, interested.
In a familiar fashion I was prompted to create an account before I got any real access to the game or what it was about. Still interested I did so.
I was asked to choose an avatar and lord name before selectin' a region of the shown map to start my city. I did so.
I was greeted by a quest screen encouragin' me to construct a cottage. I closed the screen and had a gander about the HUD. It all looked shockingly familiar. Lord name followed by military rank and title, both Civilian.
There was a loyalty equivelant next to a tax option with a city population.
Underneath that was resources; food, lumber, stone and iron.
The city was lodged out into 32 seperate tiles with a town hall equivelant in the centre all neatly surrounded by walls.
I clicked to construct the cottage in one of them and had a peek at the rest of the buildin'. Cottage, Academy equivelant, Rally Spot, Barracks, Inn equivelant, Feasting Hall equivelant, Embassy, Market, Forge and Workshop equivelants, Stable, Warehouse, Relief Station equivelant and Beacon Tower.
Sound familiar?
I even completed the first quests and looked at the next ones, asin' me to corrospond, activate disaster relief...
I jus' have to ask...did another game jus' look at Evony and decide to completely rip eveyrthin'? I mean most of the stuff they didn't even bother changin' the names or pretendin' to make it different; it's jus' a direct lift o_o
Note: For the sake of not gettin' shouted at by the scary-ups, I've left out specific details on this, links and such and the "equivelants" I've coloured is jus' to show that they are pretty much the exact same thing but with a different name.
