Something I have never and will never understand, Why the hell do people insist on living in areas where they KNOW will be hit by natural disasters every year? Such as why do people continue to live in Tornado Alley and the Gulf Coast when they know they will be hit with all sorts of sh*t every year? Why do people continue to live in California when every years it's burned to the ground? It completely perplexes, confounds, and confuses me.

There are very, very few places in the world that doesn't have SOME natural disaster associated with it. Be it wildfires, earthquakes, tornadoes, monsoons, hurricanes, tsunamis, blizzards... it's everywhere. It is a matter of weighing the risk with the reward.

And a happy late Guy Fawkes day. As a teen, I was interested in it because of a fear of government over-control and an interest in "fighting back" (not really... I am just someone who really enjoys seeing people's reasons for revolution, revolt etc. through the ages. But still. ) and V for Vendetta just reawakened that interest in me a couple of years ago.
