Those outfits are called gi. A robe has no legs. A robe is something you wrap around yourself, with armholes. A gi, is pants, and a shirt, used for practicing martial arts.

Its called being tactful, again. If they were identified, in any manner, then they would have been killed, which meant one less person to fight for freedom from oppression.
A ninja in the sense we're talking about is not a practitioner of ninjistu. In case you were wondering. I refer to fuedal japanese ninjas. Which, as I understand it, ceased to exist when Japan stopped being fuedal.
