While yes this situation works against Swordsmen and Swordsmen alone, if you are facing Archers and/or Cavalry you are bound to take losses.

I would have to say that this is wrong, because I've no loss on any with my archers unless the valley have archers in it. If the valley have Cavalry in it then I just send 1 ram and 1 catapult with my 12k archers, 1 swordsman, 1pikemen, and 1 warrior.
But if you were talking about his strategy of attacking a valley with 19k archers then my mistake then.
