I don't understand how it's childish. This is a game of war and war tactics prevail. Got a better army, tackle those around who can't defend themselves. I'm really not that big yet, but, if I'm attacked, threatened, or whatever - hey - that's the nature of the game.

asking is good, forcing is not. if your scared someone smaller then u will crush you well ok, threaten to destroy everything they have and make them start over or leave. if that pleases people. I dont see why you cant ask and except if they say no thank you. I plunder and at times ask people to join if they dont i say ok. if they say please dont attack i say ok. Honor and respect. it is a game and its war but its also diplomatic. however some dont care who they hurt aslong as they are #1. POWER is what some seek not playing a game. if its an alliance your bullying so be it but if its members on there own give them a chance, its like attacking defenceless civillians with battle tanks. plundering is one thing people can recover but being bullied, threatened and forced. that abuse. its not real life warfare.

Well said -- and I believe the entire point Jato was attempting to make.

I attacked an "inactive" player who came back.. the player send a polite email as to why he was being attacked, I apologized and stopped (as he was inactive). It was honorable -- and I was attacking him unprovoked (he was inactive originally), we were good neighbors.

THAT is a war game, folks. Declaring war and attacking 1 second later isn't necessarily kosher. It is part of the game currently, and perhaps a good suggestion that war declaration has same 'start' up time as Truce durations... just a thought.

That's the way it should be, IMHO. On one of the servers I'm on, a neighbor conquered some of my valleys. After I took them back, I attacked his city once as a 'warning shot'. He did it again, I attacked two of them and sent him a letter saying he should leave what is mine alone, and he'll have no problem from me. He continues, and he'll have a big problem. The next move is his - maybe his alliance will declare war, maybe he'll let it go, maybe he and his friends will just try to smash me. Who knows? But I'm not bullying, diplomacy has been attempted, and if anyone has waves of armies headed their way they will know why and if they are smart will be ready.

And that, to me, is fun. Maybe it's fun for him too! Waking up to find my city in ruins because some random person couldn't wait for his lumber camps to produce, or felt I was a 'threat' without doing anything? Not fun.

wow you play nice lol. When I have soon to be threats sprouting up near me, I dont say anything to them, dont give them time to keep building, dont let them live any longer. I launch full out attacks with the intent not to plunder them, but to attack and distroy every town they have only leaving their worst built least advanced one. I will either take their other towns for myself or take them then erase it.

In conclusion, this is war. The more enemies you eliminate, the more your chances grow for your own survival and prosperity.

    Sorry, Jato.
I agree with them as well.
While you may be right on an ethical standpoint... under the way the game is currently set up, if he wants to harrass players as such, that's part of the game. In my opinion, at least he's giving them the option instead of just constantly pillaging them until they leave the game.

It amazes me the number of people who log into these war type games and want to play simcity. If you want to play sims, go play sims, if you want to kill and be killed, play evony or the like.

It's like ordering a pizza and then complaining that you didn't get a burger.

there is one small flaw in you logic here, this is not stictly a war game, if it were it would be pretty pathetic what with the huge amount of time you have to spend doing stuff that is not war. This is a stratagie game, and though war is the most obvious, simplist compnent it is not the only one, the proper anaogy would be somthing like ordering a pizza and then being up set that it had not toppings becuase the pizza maker decided the pizza was all about the crust.

It is a strategy game only in terms of surviving a war or figuring out how to avoid being in one. Jato, farming means attacking others' cities for their resources. It is what the strong players do to the weak ones.

Like I said before, its all in how you chouse to play the game, I just think, and this is strictly my opinion, that many players are being short sighted, and as this conversation seems to simply be going over the same points again and again the is be my last post on the matter.
