Slow server archer army, 300,000.
So yes, the problem is bloated production of troops.
Of course to make it real you would need to limit army size to around city population. Remove the walls buff and an Army of 40K - 50K would mean something. The pre buff, nerf growth of Evony assumed city size would be a factor in army size. No mechanic forced the restriction though.
Add the possibility of garrison from other cities of your own, You still get a potential 500K Army but each unit is tied to its city. This all requires a game engine though. Something flash based, windows calculator Evony was never meant to tackle.
No, the Evony team did good for working with game glue and pop sickle sticks.. Where I find they fail and in epic fashion is the absurd and insane prices for the cents and what they buy. If anyone is paying that? They have rocks in thier head. But nobody is. There are ways around that too. It does spell fail for Evony and that's unfortunate. It was a very good concept. Next time Evony Devs? Try a modern world version, stick with the map version but attend to the sploits and holes. It will do well, I am sure.
