Oh, you want a tale? Erm, ok... something off the top of my head:
A cold, frosty wind was blowing along the dead, frozen streets of Offtopica, Socialia. There was a thin ice layer forming along every single one of the building's window ledges. Most of the doornobs were frozen shut because of the extreame cold. Everything was colder than the tip of Jack Frost's nose, quieter than a church mouse, darker than a blackbear covered in mud, and no living thing was outside on this cold, dead morning.
Suddenly, there was a rattle of a doornob. The door to the guardtower burst open, and a tall figure stumbled out into the snowy landscape. He was covered head to toe in full, dark iron plate armor. He carried golden keys in one hand, and a latern in the other. His sword, tucked away in it's holster, was made purely of iron. You couldn't see any part of his body exposed to the cold, harsh environment. All you could see was his tall figure looming over everything.
The man jingled the keys around a little, and, after shutting the door, he locked it. "That confounded door" muttered Lord Arumen, officer of Offtopica. He turned around and observed his surounding. "H'm... bit chilly out today" commented Arumen to nobody in perticular. "At least there'll be no flames today". Tucking the keys away into a pouch on his officer's belt, he began to walk down the street.
It was still early, and it seemed that no one was awake. Arumen looked at everything around him as he walked down the barren street. "Well, there isn't much to do right now" he said, looking around at everything. "Might as well see if the bar's open". He began to walk towards the center of town, wistling to himself a tune of old as he went.
Arumen arrived at the bar, one of the oldest establishments in the city. It was built by Dankfire, a real legend. Ah, Dank. Arumen sighed at the rememberance of that man. A member of yore, now long gone. Arumen quickly shruged off the memory of him and opened the door to the bar.
Arumen entered into an extreamly festive room with balloons, decorations, and a bunch of people screaming in his face "HAPPY ARUMEN DAY!"
"What is this?" asked Arumen, chuckling. "Now this isn't something I expected! Who's the one who did this?" Arumen was obviously pleased with this event, chuckling all the while he was talking.
"Oh, that's my fault!" yelled a voice out from the crowd. A man, dressed fully in robes and a pointed hat, walked out of the group of celebrators. "I just made the event yesterday, to praise the works of the Law".
"Haha, Joe" chuckled Arumen, patting him on the back. "Excelent work, my friend!"
Joe grinned, showing his white teeth. "Thanks" he said. "But no time to talk now! We have a celebration to get to!"
Arumen grinned. This was one thing he didn't expect, especially on a day like this. He joined the group of celebrators, ready for a great time.
And that's the story behind Arumen Day![]()
