WoW. Now this is fun wanting to go back and face that again, all the while hitting valleys with my pathetic army
The disappointment has set it, rather than praise the game is getting bashed online. It deserves it. So yes Devs and Dev peons. We are mad, we are disappointed and some of us have had enough. I will be logging on (if I ever can) long enough to say goodbye to me friends and get my butt out of this game. I have spent too much money on NO results. Going back to WoW... pay, play, have fun.
go ahead and waste ur pathetic money on wow. it'll only make us more happier cuase we won't have dat much complainers, if u can do any better at runnin a game den go ahead otherwise leave it alone 4 people with actual skill to play and people who actually know how to log on on the darn game. It's not worth our time listening to people like u.

I just started this game a week and a half ago and am now parusing the forums because I'm not able to log into my server at the moment ...

as far as medal dropping, I'm on server 33 and I've found it to be just like what the wiki says with a 2-3% drop rate

I haven't kept exact statistics, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a smidgen higher than that...I haven't gotten probably 7 medals or so maybe, but I send waves of attacks to level 3 valleys with 200 arches just like the wiki said and I've gotten some medals (never the ones that I really need :P)

I'm not sure what kind of strategy everyone else is using, or maybe if they just have bad luck, or maybe the devs really did something to the drop rates...all i know is that the drop rates on 33 seem to be according with the wiki and pretty fair

If you think these medals are hard to get...don't play battlefield 2

I wouldn't consider server 33 a newer server. Try opening an account on one of the newer servers (maybe the newest servers) and see if you get the same results. When I was on w11, I could folllow Hod's guide and I got medals without too much trouble. Yes, it took numerous attacks, but I got them. For example, there's a medal (honor?) that's supposed to come from an npc. 4 or 5 I can't remember, since on server 67 it doesn't matter, but I have hit hundreds, if not close to a thousand or more level 4 and 5 npcs, and I got a michealangelo's script. Once. Other than that, I got a cross medal from a level 9 or 10 valley. Once. Thats it.

As I stated earlier, there is cross-server confusion. The rates are different depending upon which server you are playing.
If anyone in the whole wide world can give me one good reason why that should be considered 'fair' or equitable, I would like to hear it.

This is an open question, so any mods, super-mods, or representatives can feel free to answer.

In the early days of server 9 medals were far easier to get from low level valleys. I started on 85 three weeks ago and got 1 rose medal from 400 attacks on lvl 1-4 valleys.

So I read the forums and the wiki and found someone that claimed a higher success rate from lvl 9 and 10 valleys.

Since then I start my day by scouting every lvl 10 within 15 miles of my cities. I eliminate the ones that have archers or cav defending. This leaves me 5-9 lvl 10 valleys a day that I can hit every hour and get no losses with enough archers.

I'm getting 5 - 10 medals of all types a day form this system. Lvl 10 valleys seem to be the place to look. By comparison I've hit over 300 lvl 5 npc's and not had a single one.

The medals are out there, you just cant rely on the same methods you used on old servers to get them. Try this one and see how it works.

just another sign of bad programming...seriously...

    I'll give two scenarios:
    1. They wanted to use this method to increase revenue so instead of changing it on all servers and getting complaints from existing players, they just thought they could mask the change by only adding it to the new ones

    2. They wanted to change this on all the servers, but since this game is obviously a result of terrible programming, perhaps this was not so easily editable on the existing servers and could only be implemented on the new servers

    I'm opting for #1

I'll tell you what: if someone will write up a thoughtful, professional paper detailing why the lower medal drop rate is bad and why raising it would be better (from the company's perspective), and make it no longer than one page in length, I'd deliver that up the line for you. But it has to be truly professional and it has to be convincing. No whining. No attacking. Put your skills to some better use and see if you can make a real difference.
While I completely respect your request to have forum posts in a professional manner and not just complaining, I find great concern about why it would take someone that is not an employee to understand the situation here and take action on that situation.

I'm struggling to make sure that my point is clear - but the messages that folks post - even with all caps, even just simply complaining, etc, needs to have someone that works for the company understand the issue, look to find the real message that we the users are saying, and take it yourself to the management/development team. Figuring out what changes need to be made to the game is not our decision - in fact I've yet to see any type of reliable "what's changed" document between revs of your software and how things work.

I would strongly suggest - in the interests of evony and those who work there, to not 'go play xbox' simply because they don't want to read through all the posts - but to take a sincere marketing approach and use the Forums to acquire information about what people really want to have in this game, and make an attempt to keep folks as happy as possible. Happy people are usually more willing to throw a couple of bucks in the hat. Disgruntled people are your worst type of advertising. Once they quit the game, you are not going to get them back.

Maybe making yet one more angry thread isn't going to get you what you want. I'll tell you what: if someone will write up a thoughtful, professional paper detailing why the lower medal drop rate is bad and why raising it would be better (from the company's perspective), and make it no longer than one page in length, I'd deliver that up the line for you. It's simple. On the new servers you can't get promotions to hold more cities unless you purchase cents. In this sense, while it's still free to play, we're being forced to pay if we want to advance.

LOL. well, I have been playing free online games nonstop for last several years. I have got to say that this game does have some of the worst customer service/support I've ever seen. Most of these games realize that the key to success is having a game people want to play. Popularity is the key to success. People will spend alot of money on a very active game that everyone loves. Who wants to spend money on a dying game that frustrated it's players into quitting?

What's rediculous is that they actually lowered the drop rate to slow down the pace. I agree, the initial drop rate % might have been a little high. I had 500+ of many medals on server 13. But, what they did was rediculous. The current drop rate is killing the game!! I've already quit 2 servers because of it and I'll most likely end up doing the same on current server. At which point I'll most likely just find something better to play.
