Size DOES NOT always win. Yes, it gives you an advantage, but almost any army can be countered by a smaller, more organized force. Twice now, I've had to beat of attacks with 10K-15K more troops than I had, and won because I used the proper troops to counter the incomming attack. My alliance has weekly compititions to see who can come up with the best strategy, and my recent "How to stop a 30k warrior, 40K archer attack with less than 30K troops" is quickly becoming the leading contender (sorry, not going to post here. Alliance members only). War is not won by throwing force at force. Dead soldiers come from throwing force at force. Forget all your preconceptions on warefare. This is a strategy game, not a slugfest.
At the end of the Vietnam War, the American commander and the NV commander met to discuss America's withdraw. The American command said to the NV commander "You know. We won every single engagment in this war." The NV commander said back "That's true, but it's also irrelevant."
