    I mailed Thalin as he has always been the level headed guy when the new Mods go a little off the reservation which is what seems to be happening now.

    Hopefully he will respond.

    Used to be able to have a great laugh with D-Seeker mocking him and Evony and he would respond with great gusto... now you say "Evony lags" insta BAN for instigating

    Thank You DC!!! A fact that seems to be being over looked!!! I wont say too much more... I already received my official warning and the thread I posted not more than 5-10 mins ago no long exists even when using the direct link to it. So *sigh* I guess i'll have to watch the forums closely today to try and catch new threads before they are deleted....

    *sigh* the OP's question has been answered so can this be closed? Closing it will stop the flame battle's.

    And the new Mods aren't to blame, If you did read Foxy's response you would have read that it wasn't there fault. Don't blame the wrong people, It will only start a blame game.

    If 100 people walk into a store and they all demand a 50" flat screen for free, is that good for the business? It's definitely good for the customer. The fact is if something isn't good for the business and they have to do something to keep things flowing as best as possible, it is for ALL customers not just a few.

    Jeez still providing silly comparisons.

    Those 50 people are not paying customers so therefore how is this applicable to here ?

    More likely:

    100 Evony People who have bought money would like to have a civilised discussion about Evony.

    100 get banned/infracted/perma banned for "Disrespect of Authority" (YES that is a bannable offense these days)

    100 said people then say you know what we just migrate to another forum, (not wonder where most of the top players have gone huh ?) ad leave this forum to rot.

    More and more top people have migrated as we cannot talk here any more, used to be able to but these new mods and super mods have really taken the bans to a super level, to the point of complete censorship.

    Basic rule of the forum is:

    Say something nice about us or we will ban you.

    Just about covers it 100%

    You don't know if those people are regular shoppers at that establishment or not.

    Civilized discussion is allowed, complete disruption is not. There is a difference.

    Bad analogy - noone is asking for a free TV or pecuniary advantage. They are asking that they be heard - and as good customer service ALL customers should be heard and treated with due respect unless the customer becomes abusive - however saying things that are not popular with the management does not constitute abuse. The off hand expolsion of customers does nothing for the reputation of the business or the customer service representatives of the company.
    This is from the point of view who someone who worked for a major US air carrier for 16 years and has a good understanding of customer service issues - I now run my own business and if I arbitrarily dismissed customer comments then my business would suffer in the long run.

    Completely agreed. Again if you have issues with a closed thread, message the moderator for an explanation. As for bans, we follow a simple set of rules and there are auto-bans and dev/admin bans. We don't discuss banned individuals as we would then be banning ourselves for breaking privacy

    If there is a specific mod that you see closing multiple threads or abusing their power, talk to a super mod or an administrator (like Thalin).

    Erm...? That's awesome for business... coz you have 100 people in your store, and not your competitor's store (in this instance, rival forum), who all want televisions. I'm not saying give in to unrealistic demands from your client base, I'm saying treat them with respect. To change your example to be more fitting with the current scenario, If you sell a TV to those 100 people and egg them on the way out, you won't see them again, regardless of how nice the TV is.

    Ultimately, I think most of us realize this isn't an issue we have with admins or moderators being too quick to use, or misuse, their powers... we have issue with the rules under which you have to exercise your authority... its draconian. I'm sure there are many, like me, who are experienced moderators of countless other forums, who have not sought such a position here because we wouldn't wish to have to follow such guidelines.

    (EDIT: I will, in fairness, note that you recently gave me an appropriate warning, which was suitably not an infraction, and I revised my post accordingly for which you thanked me... so this isn't an issue I have with you - just want to make that very clear)

    Believe it or not I have been in management for years and completely understand customer service. However if a customer became abusive or completely disruptive of the business, it was time for them to go and they no longer deserved the right to be heard. When people keep things civil, without making accusations, false statements, threats, being abusive, offensive or completely disruptive, the reps are more than willing to listen and mods leave threads alone.


    DC, it is not good for business as it incurs huge losses and you cannot then give say 10% off to 1,000 customers.
