Only read two of Tom Clancey's books, but they were superb reads.

I'm also big on W.E.B. Griffin. I really liked his Brotherhood of War series.

Steve Alten's Meg series wasn't that bad either, but I only read the first two books. Eventually I'll re-read the ones I have and decide if I want to get the new ones.
