Idk. Anytime the heroes get too powerful, further character development (or plot development) is hard. Rand can take up an angreal, stretch out his hand, and obliterate most if not all of his enemies. It's why in Heroes (another of my favorites), they took away Peter's and Hiro's powers. It just got to the point where you're thinking, "Hey, why doesn't Peter just use xxx power or Hiro warp time and space in xxx way, and eliminate all opposition?".
