A post on the forum specifies that the medal drop rate is going to change, so while it is a bad problem that should not have lasted this long, its not a matter of years

You've already heard about the speed ups i see

I have never had the problem you speak of in attack times. It could be a result of research in one city, and an academy that does not allow that research level in another.

I get the feeling you have not seen server performance a week ago But seriously, i don't find it too bad now
It said it (the medal drop rate) would go up, but still be nowhere near where it was before. Very clearly. Of course this was a bug, which gave many many players an insurmountable advantage. Did they have a plan to fix (or roll back) this problem : NO! THAT'S WHY IT'S BETA

I don't care how ****tily it ran two weeks ago - the OP asked if this was a functional game. The game runs like crap (on S3) about 1/2 of the time. THAT'S WHY IT'S BETA.

As for whether it's good or not... There are many games out there that are FREER than this game - where players who use skimmed cards do not get in-game advantages. For me, being able to BUY your kingdom is not a deal-breaker, but a game has to be pretty darned good to overcome it.

This game is not there by a longshot. I would be more forgiving of the game were it honest, and label itself as still beta. But we both know they can't do that, because in most parts of the world, selling access to a beta is not legal.

My personal opinion is that this game came out of beta, not because it was ready, but because of the legal ramifications of charging for a beta game..... You have to admit that this does explain a lot of things...
