The theme is really about an ordinary girl who falls in love with a vampire, sooner or later. Victoria, a bad vampire, has her mate killed and is hunting Bella. Then Edward and Bella live on as parents. You really have to read the books, I haven't. My sister said the last book was gross.

That is not a theme, that is a plot. something that book ALSO barely has.

These books are unmemorable and not that good. I am glad Stephanie is earning money in a method that I like too- but the fascination with this poor book series is much like the fascination with the Eragon books. They are not unique.

Twilight is a disturbing trend. =/ I really hate how many people are just going gaga over this barely mediocre piece of writing. It is halfassed at best, people. And, furthermore, I think it is a disgusting set of lessons to give to all the girls reading it. This site a friend linked me to summed it up nicely for me:

This novel thus teaches two important lessons to young girls everywhere:

1) If a guy dumps you and says he doesn't love you anymore, he doesn't mean it. All you have to do is beg and destroy your life to prove that you really love him, and he'll come right back and love you even more!

2) It is perfectly cool to string along innocent but decent guys who are crushing on you and then dump them immediately as soon as your ex-boyfriend reappears, and totally normal if said ex-boyfriend forbids you from seeing your old friend. After all, your love for your ex must be far stronger, because he makes you feel 'alive' and 'dangerous' since he's always on the verge of killing you. And stalking you. We can't really mention that enough.
