true. Who invented twlight anyway. they must be from hell. Next thing you now, the world is littered with twilight books that make you go MAD!!! Oh wait, it's already like that.
btw. doesn't Edward go half naked in the movie? thats not really appropriet. appropreat. appropr...never mind. I can't speel at allz.
How do I know the name of Edward? I do not know.![]()
Well then... my mistake. That makes it so much better.
Rayne's opinion, or yours, does not contradict ANY opinion of mine on this matter. I have NO opinion on this matter since I haven't seen the movies or read the books.
Do I really have to explain to such enlightened and oh so cultured youths as you two that it is the intolerance of others tastes and, indeed, opinions, manifested not only here, that disgust me to the point of rage?
Of course I do have to explain...
When did I say I was intolerant? I insulted the books. I think it is disgusting that people fall all over themselves for something that is NOT a good example of literature, but as I said, luvvie, my best friend reads it. I love her, though I tease her mercilessly for liking it. In my opinion, those who read these books need to be exposed to better examples of writing if they think Twilight is "amazing". In my opinion, girls who idolize the unhealthy relationship between the protagonists are being severely mentally harmed by thinking the relationship is something they want.
Now, luvvie, do I need to use smaller words to make my opinion clear, or am I making sense yet?
I have every right in the world to think people are under-educated if they consider this book series anything but a time-killer. Just as others are totally within their rights to dislike brats who think they know everything, or former moderators who claim to be disgusted by the intolerance of others insulting those with differing opinions while insulting a person for just that.
Imagine that.![]()
For someone who so intensely dislikes me, you sure seem to pay intimate attention to my capitalization. Congratulations.
Hyena stated she only cared about the basic story, so I wouldn't push anything I find more acceptable on her, especially since she didn't ask.
But I will continue to state my opinions, whether they be about literature, or anything else. Even people's statements, such as Ken's. Just because you've suddenly decided to play father to him, doesn't mean I'm coddling anyone, even a 12 year old, who should know better.
Intolerance? Did I personally attack Hyena? Call her names? Anything of the sort? No. Because I don't know her and have nothing against her, and have every bit of respect for her, despite our difference of opinions regarding a certain book.
I don't believe stating my opinion in the way I see fit, whether I'm a "cultured youth" or not, is intolerance. Otherwise it wouldn't be called an opinion. It would be called dictatorship.
My age or "youth" has no significance in this conversation, except maybe to someone who has to patronize a person, though well into adulthood, younger than themselves just to feel more intelligent or wise.
You brought the issue of age up between Empy and Myself, I suggest you learn to show some tolerance for those who are younger, but just as opinionated and sophisticated, if not more so, as yourself.
Practice what you preach.
