You know guys...
When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought: " Boy! Did this guy choose the wrong audience!"
Low and behold!! A lot of plain common sense and a healthy scepticism. Heart warming, to say the least.
BRAVO!!!
Wait a minute...
Did I say heart warming?...
Ahhhhwwwwwwwww Ittttt burrrrnnnns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that the earth is alive but do I think It has a mind of its own. No. many organism live with no free thought, I believe that the earth is going through a natural cycle.
Do I think Humans had an Impact? Maybe, But if we did I believe that we only fastened the effects of a natural cycle. That is of course only an opinion based on the limited information that I know, but this is what I think![]()
If global warming WERE true, Co2 emission wouldn't have an 800 year lag of effect on the atmosphere. The earth goes through natural warming and cooling cycles every so often (hundreds of years)
Enough said.
Let me try to simplify the major points.
Humans are the most successful animal species on the planet.
There are certain things that we do that are bad for the atmosphere.
We clear rainforrests for timber, paper and farming land.
We westerners eat large amounts of meat, especially beef.
Cattle produce very large amounts of methane gas.
We burn coal (carbon based fossil fuel) to produce electricity.
We drive motor vehicles and run trucks and farm equipment that burn carbon based fossil fuels.
Two of the most populated countries in the world are experiencing massive economic growth and want all the luxury items that we westerners have.
Trees absorb carbon-dioxide and use it to produce complex carbohydrates to fuel their growth. They emit oxygen as a by-product.
Chemical based agriculture produces far more carbon-dioxide than oxygen from the plants grown.
Scientists believe that large amounts of carbon-dioxide (and other greenhouse gases such as methane) in the atmosphere will create a blanket affect, where heat will enter from the sun, but instead of being largely dissipated back into space, it will be reflected by the blanket back to the planet surface.
It is almost impossible to make accurate predictions about climate change as there are too many things that we do not yet understand.
Changes to ocean surface temperatures could cause long-term changes to rainfall patterns and extreme weather events that may leave some areas in drought while other areas are flooded.
By the time that scientists are able to predict with accuracy what will happen in regard to climate change, it will already be too late to reverse the effect and we will have to live with the changes and the natural system corrections that will follow.
It is probably already too late to stop the changes that will happen so you can go on denying it and just keep saying it's all a myth. It no longer matters.

I think the main problem is the carbon dioxide build-up.
The rain forests are critical factor. Because roughly half of the forests are gone, the carbon dioxide buildup is diluting the ozone, which is allowing short-wave radiation from the Sun to enter our atmosphere more easily. Normally the ozone layer reflects or distorts a good portion of the radiation, but now that it's being pushed aside, so to speak, more radiation is getting in through the poles.
Kinda explains a bit, really.
