What makes a good Host? These are my thoughts:

1) Integrity.
A lot of people use the word with little or no understanding of it's meaning. Integrity is an absolute, it is NOT a matter of degree or convenience. You have it 100% every moment of every day OR you rationalize things and lie to yourself. Integrity is important in a Host so they can be trusted to keep their word and act honorably on behalf of the alliance.

2) Experience.
A Host needs to understand Evony enough to answer questions and give advice even to advanced players. If they are lacking depth of knowledge, the members will notice.

3) Commitment.
A Host has to have the time to be in game on a regular basis. A Host needs to be available / responsive to officers, members and other Hosts. If you can forsee a lack of 'playing time' in the near future, start searching for a replacement.

4) Maturity.
Sounds ageist, but that is not how I mean it. Maturity usually comes with age, but not always. Young people can exhibit exceptional maturity also. Maturity is important because it helps avoid miscommunications and emotion-fueled responses to different situations. Respond when you are calm or ponder the matter until you are calm.

Thats it. Let the flames commence!

Me. I'm a Host of an alliance, and after reading this....I really should improve.
1. I have integrity. At least, i think i do.
2. Well, better read up on those guides.
3. Half my alliance, i fear is gone. And i go on quite a bit.
4. Better control my emotions.
I like this list you made up. Shall Fav it, and remember every time i must do my Host duties.
oops. I'm Vice Host now, my Higher-Ranking officers decided i was doing a bad job......not sure if they are right.......
