Also, on your descriptions about the Jaq attack you mention a "1000 range bonus" for cav in "special circumstances". You should read Bradys sticked guide, the +200 range theory discussed there makes much more sense and consistently explains every battle report presented so far.
First of all, you can only get items if you win the battle. Obviously, since most scout bombs are suicide attacks by nature, you wouldn't get an item from them.

Second, a 200 yard difference does not account for cavalry (which normally have a speed of 1,500 max) moving 2,500 in one round. Seriously. If you'd read the pages following the db's original guide, you might've seen the discussion on that topic.
