Now there's an angry community lol.

The thing with communities is that this is sometimes the result. It becomes hard to try change a community and I salute your efforts with this thread to try give us an insight on this matter.

When it comes down to accepting people into the community, I personally take a look at the post history, see how they act. I also take a look at the first 10 posts in the OT.
Usually, the people who manage to irritate me with more then 4 of their first 10 OT posts, are those that I dislike. For example: Lord Ken.
Or Victallany. Everyone else is fine. As you might recall, I welcome many new people to the OT itself. I was the first person to communicate with Ashely at all. I was also the first one to talk to her when she posted here.
And Rayne, and Empy, and various others who were new here, they are now welcome, because they've proven that they are not so deeply irritating and moronic as to actually be people who are capable of enjoying it as a community, and not just as a place to hang out and do whatever the hell you like.

Surely you can see my point?
And, yes, I do get a little hostile with various people of the irritating persuasion. Can I help that my personality is such that I verbally attack those I dislike? Should I punished for having a personality that would like to see this area kept functioning in the manner that the community enjoys?

As I recall: Foxy once told me that if we were to continue with constant spamming, and flaming, and all the other general things we are barely allowed to do down here, in the manner in which we were doing it, that OT would be closed. Indefinitely. I for one, would not like to see the few ruin it for the many. Otherwise you would soon see a very angry Demon ripping through the rest of the forum.

Yes. It was the only good/successful RP he ever made.

Storm, you are not on trial here. This is not about you. This is not about any single individual.

There's like a dozen of those spam threads going atm.
Can't we let a few die? Do we really need more than 3-4 of those at a time?

say random thing about person above you
    word association
    ninja/pirate
    cake/pie
    samus/MC
    ways to die
    vend machine
    studies show
    E:TG
    etc....

We all need a place to put random "nothing" posts for fun and humor. But geez, we don't need a spam of spam.

I agree with Demon. I look at post history. And there are quite a few OT members who live ONLY in the spam threads. They add no posts of substance ever. Rarely have posts of more than half a sentence. Those kind of posters are not going to garner respect from me.

And neither am I asking anyone to all like everyone. Or even respect everyone. I am asking for tolerance.

Tolerance is letting others be what they are. Not automatically like or dislike. Just to live and let live.

We are talking about the future of this community. Or whether or not it has one. For my part, I am firmly convinced it could and should have an amazing future. But not if it remains a closed club.

Do I want a community? Yes. Do I want it with all these people? No. I loved the community we had in June and July.

I enjoy welcoming new members who actually want to be part of the community. I'm just tired of the % of threads that are spam threads of nothing posts. It seems to be growing. And the % of threads for actual discourse are shrinking.

Why wait upon others? It's you community too. That's the whole point.
