*Sigh* Fine, I will. Here is part 1 of 2.
-Evony Review-
=Items for first time players of Evony=
*Introduction*
Items and certain useable tools are very important when first starting out in the world of Evony. You may notice that the Evony team starts you off with a good amount of items for purposes such as speeding production of resources, finishing buildings you construct instantaneously, and so on.
*Basic Items*
These items found in your my items tab near your lord picture and under the overview tab contains a variety of useful items for different purposes. Although there is only one item in your items, over time while you learn to play the game you shall recieve more items over time, via through a multitude of ways.
The item inside your "items" tab is the Speaker item which allows you to chat in the world channel. It is not adviceable you use these items instantly for it only allows you to write 5 sentences. However if you need to use them or just want to waste them, then talk at will. The speaker item also helps with a quest, so you might want to keep it in mind. Now onto the rest of the tabs.
*Speed Ups, Produce, and Medals*
There is currently nothing in these tabs so lets move on into the chest tab.
*Chest*
Now here is where the good stuff is packed. Inside this tab you should find 3 items. The Newbies Package, Package for Lords, and Amulet (a.k.a. an Aries Amulet). Lets start with the Newbies Package since the Package for Lords is unopenable until further progression into the game and the Aries Amulet will be explained later. Clicking the detail tab will open a new window that has the option of apply. In the desription of the package is everything needed to start the game. Apply it and then view your acquired items, then hit close. Go back to items since there is nothing more that can be done in the chest tab.
*Basic Items-Revisited*
Going back to your original items tab will improve your item choice greatly. Now in your items tab should be your 5 Speakers, 1 Holy Water, 1 City Teleporter, 1 Corselet, 1 Truce Agreement, 1 War Horn, 1 Anabasis, and 2 Hero Hunting.
Starting with Holy Water (since the Speakers have already been explained), it allows you to alter your hero's attributes so that you can pool his/her points into a specific stat. In order to use holy water you must go to your feasting hall (if you have one, and have a hero recruited) and by clicking view on your hero, then clicking redistribute and applying a Holy Water. Depending upon when you want to alter your hero's stats on what you want your hero to be high in is your choice. But generally the purpose of the item is to readjust your hero's strengths depending upon his/her job. Since at the beginning of the game you have no hero we don't need to worry about this now.
Next is the City Teleporter. Basically the name tells it all, it teleports your city to a different region of Evony. Usually the city teleporter is used often after you have been recruited into an alliance and need to teleport to alliance territory. Unless your in an alliance or just want to teleport to find a better place to have a city its not required to be used.
3rd is the Corselet. The main use of the Corselet is for when fighting. Being an army benefit, its purpose is to increase your troops defence by 20% for 24 hours. After you have gotten decently into the game and you have an army that your confident about you have options to attack different things. What you attack is up to you. Now before going into battle apply this item to have your troops gain 20% more defence, increasing your chances to win in a battle. This can also mean less casualties. Also since its active for 24 hours, you can continually attack until the time is up.
Next on the list is a Truce Agreement. Since you are a beginner and you are under beginner's protection you have no need for this since no one can attack you. However, after your out of the protection after 7 days of being in Evony and you get attacked the Truce Agreement is used to postpone that attack for exactly 12 hours. That means your safe from any damage until then, simple as that.
5th on the list is the War Horn. In general this item goes in the same category as the Corselet. It has the same effect except that it raises your troops attack by 20% instead of the defense. In the same general case it is effective for exactly 24 hours and you may attack as many times as desired in the given time. By raising the attack you have a much better chance of killing the enemy soldiers in battle. Like the raised defense this can give you an advantage on the battlefield.
Down to the 2nd to last item on the list is the Anabasis. This peculiar item deals with your hero. It allows the hero you apply it to, (through the feasting hall by clicking the plus sign next to the experience level) to give your hero experience points. According to the level of the hero the Anabasis will give your hero 1,000 experience points or 8% of the current level cap (whichever is greater). When you do acquire a hero this item will level he/she up accordingly. Higher level heros mean greater benefits in battle, but I won't go too into detail with this.
Lastly on the Items tab is the Hero Hunting item. Thanks to your handy package, it gave you two of these little hero items. Using this on your Inn when you build one, allows you to hit the refresh button and use a Hero Hunting to call more heros to your inn depending on its level. Also depending upon your overall level of your city determines what level hero will spawn in the Inn when you use a Hero Hunting. A quest is required for this scroll too, so be wise on how you use them. Heros can be leveled so these items can be saved for later when they are truly needed.
