Dudes, I'm not sure if anyone posted this yet because I'm so lazy, but archers and cataphracts are the best.
Ballistas are good for ATs and NPCs, but they eat too much food and are too slow. You only send them against wall defences, and even then if they are really close or you don't mind the time.
