Thank you Armbarchris. I think you know your stuff. Those over-sized weapons such as the picture posted by Lord Ken and seen in movies such as Alliens have always been a giggle. Anything that unwieldy and you would probably be dead before you managed to bring it to bare on your target. Then there is the implied weight of an over-sized weapon. If you were to try and swing around quickly to target something, the momentum created by the mass would make it almost impossible to stop the arc at the exact point that you want.
I would like to nominate a different weapon, one that has been used by leaders for centuries to wage wars. The human mind.PEACE

Well, lets follow a direct train of thought.
Weapons.
There's a ton of them. So: Let's follow the train backwards to the simplest.
Rocks and Sticks. What is the animal to use these for combat and eventually develop more sophisticated weapons?
Humans. What part of a human is that which has allowed ideas such as using rocks and sticks, and synthesizing more weapons beyond?
The Human mind.
As the Human mind is that which has created all weapons, I'm pretty damn sure that the mind is the greatest weapon.
That or the Psychic Dominator.
