All well and good to whine and bemoan. All one needs to do is start an interesting thread.

No need to post ideas here either. What are you doing, asking permission? Most of you, if not all, know the rules. Having a thread for airing out ideas first sounds a lot like this place has run out of things to debate.

And if the thread is to get idea approval from Mods before-hand, than that is VERY wrong. First, it's our job to do so anyway, based on the rules. Second, Mods aren't the Nanny here. You folks have better learn to walk on your own two feet.

    Uh, what now?

When did this thread need approval?

Oh just mods flaunting their modliness. Anyways I agree with Axer's Idea:

Revive the Colored Armies! Bring back the shops!

You know the stuff that we had fun with.

Go for it. HOWEVER.....when you go nuts with the shops and armies, and some people come running back to the mods or to myself begging for relief from the spam, how will you respond?

Nobody cares if you all have fun, but there do need to be limits. Perhaps if you plan a spree of some type, limits should be agreed upon in advance?

Sounds good to me. As in: Max # of shops, Max # of armies, etc.

    lol

I am glad Evony is cracking down on Spam.

There's this guy on 116 named HelpfulHal that spammed me like 5 times with the same message.

He never replied to my replies.

    Too bad.

But let's talk about something fun. Like the silliest thing you've seen someone do, or the silliest thing YOU have done.

Well, everyone, I believe it's finally time to say this.

Off-Topic, you've lost that lovin' feeling.

I remember the days when there was discussion abound (and I haven't even been here for that long), and people willingly took different sides on several (not necessarily important) matters, just to add more of a challenge. These days, the OTD seems to have teetered out to forum games, which get quite boring after some time, and a few _____ vs. ______ polls, in which one side is unquestionably crushed by the other.

Where's the beef (discussion, not actual beef)?! What's happened to the great Off-Topic I used to love? Sure, spamming's gone down drastically, but the space that people who have moved on (there are quite a few I could mention, believe me) left doesn't seem to have been filled by the new kids (I'm probably younger than most of these so-called 'new kids', but you get the point). We aren't a community anymore, just a meshing together of people (the actual definition of 'community' is still in question).

    Where's that lovin' feeling?

And so the answer to this is to bring back the armies and shops?

    Right.....

The armies and shops may have been spam-ish, but during the time they were here, everyone had fun, enjoyed them and got along. So why not?
