    Default I have an idea

What if Evony put a rose medal and lion medal drop on lvl 5 npc. If could even be a fairly low rate.
Also they could expand a drop rate to lvl 6 - 9 npc. building up to higher medals.

This way people could expand to 3 cities in reasonable amount of time from lvl 5 npcs and the other npcs (lvl 6- lvl 9) people don't farm as much so it wouldn't be so easy to go up in rank.

    What do you think?

because they want you to break down, spend money, buy the medal boxes to achieve the next level, so you have to break down, spend more money, buy more medal boxes to achieve the level after that.

It's a cycle, and the only way to break the cycle is to either avoid leveling up or just not play.

Funny thing is, there are 2 different systems, old server medal drops, new server medal drops.

Hell, if I still had my original account,(lucky for me I don't, I finally got it deleted to avoid coming back), I had 100's if not 1k's of medals on that account from hours of medal farming with scouts back in the day. We used to be able to send in troops, clear a valley, then start sending never ending raids on the same valley with scouts. 8 second raids, medal every time. Was an incredible time back then. People were happy to spend their money on this game for other things back then, and you heard about the 1k dollar drops a lot of people were doing, just to get the speed ups to build stuff faster, as they didn't have to worry about medals.

now, it's a trickle effect. Those that have, don't need and those that need, don't want to buy, but sometimes are forced to. It's what they want here, for you to open up your wallet and credit card to them. Pay for something you'll never physically touch. I've done, but then again, I've had it to burn too, so it doesn't bother me, but what about those other people that don't have it to burn? Where do they stand? They should just be thankful it's a free game after all.

Its bad economics by evony however, people in general do not appreciate having to pay to "uncripple" software. Look how bad windows vista did selling crippled version of their software cheaper, the cheap guys still want ALL the features. If evony were smart they'd make progressing to the state of ENDGAME easier to accomplish not harder, getting to endgame status is not a goal people look to acheive in and of itself, its seen more as a requisite before you can even compete. IMHO at the state of endgame (10 cities all level 10d) people would be MORE apt to buy game coins for the implements of war (ivory horns, war ensigns, on wars, corselets, excaliburs, napoleons, archimedes, etc.) Its similar to the tax system, everytime the government cuts taxes, tax revenues go UP not down. If evony opened the game up more to the free players they'd see a higher conversion ratio to paying players.
