I do wonder though: Santa has a lot of the signs of mental illness. Serious, scary, disturbing, get-the-net kind.

*Hides away from people all year long (very anti-social)
*Dresses up in a "special outfit" for the one time a year he does interact with others (suggests he sees this as a ritual) that may or may not be a disguise
*Spends the rest of the year stalking children
*Obsessively makes lists of the children, sorting them into "naughty" and "nice" categories
*His "catch-phrase" may be an indicator of the kind of women he normally associates with
*When WAS the last time someone saw Mrs. Claus alive? Hmm????
*Keeps his home in such a way as to discourage "visits" even from law enforcement

Santa is a serial murderer wanted in all 13 countries and every non-controlled island.

He carries a bag full of sedated children around from house to house. The parents never realize he replaces all of the children with mechanized greed-filled little monsters.
