Most of you are MISSING the fact that this type of marketing is poorly thought out and not well accepted in the "real" world. However if the "company" feels it is getting the ROI (read profits) they are expecting then they will continue. Personally if I worked for "the company" I would not ever - ever - put on my job resume a marketing campaign like the "company" runs if I were looking for a job.
I won't spend the $30.00 to get a chest or key. Now if they had marketed it differently and offered a $5.00 key for the Mystery Chest (read - NOT FREE) I know without a doubt they would get even more money and prolly I'd have spent the $30.00 (in total $5.00 keys) for all the chests I have.
Since it's virtual product it's still win-win - but if they don't feel the pain it isn't going to change. I know $30.00 here and there isn't a big deal to many players but times "x" chests?? Especially when the established players have all the medals we need which greatly reduces the value of the packages.
I'd love to be able to opt out of the "sales pitches".
