He won the war in Africa. The Afrika Korps were still a very effective fighting force even when they were in Egypt. They captured Tobruk which gave them another port. If it wasn't for Monty, or even Auchinleck, you would have no Torch landings. And Rommel would've got to the Middle East, linked up with Japan, and then.... who knows. Russia would've fallen. The UK would've either had to rely on the USA exporting oil, or sued for peace, and then the US would've had to get past hundreds of U-Boats to land in Europe.

Without Monty, Africa would've fallen. And the free world with it.
