Personally I send 250 ballistas and if there are a lot of troops, I send 500 ballistas, but I got heaps of them to spare.

even with a balliasta, which will extend the battle range, you can still lose archers vs cav.

it all depends on the HERO at the valley, this is why sometimes you lose some, sometimes you don't. if the hero is good, your archers can get flanked, thus resulting in loses. and because all you can see in a scout report is a heroes lvl, you have no way of knowing whether or not youll take loses.
I agree completely with this, but stopped loosing troops when I started sending more ballistas.

This is the best guide around - period.

I've read em all, and this really works - I've scored 63 medals in 20 days.

This morning I got the last rose I was waiting for and jummped 3 lvl's, just need three more honor and I jump 2 more .....
Some days are lean, some are bountiful. There is no single valley to attack for a specific medal, as I've got 3 different medals from the exact same valley in the same day. I think it's up to pot luck what you get - please prove me wrong if you know otherwise. I have never attacked a lake (there's none available within 30 miles of me) but I've scored all medal types.
For those who HAVE to know, I've mainly hit hills and deserts, but plenty of swamps and flats too, occasionally a forest when I can find one. Medals fall from 'em all.

I did also get 1 mich script one day too.

I have attacked the same valley within the 1 hour regen period and scored medals, if there is anything that might appear to be a trend, is if I attack a valley, and re-attack it soon as the troops are home, I've scored lion and rose medals this way but of course not every time, and I have scored other medals too, but it seems to be more lion and rose this way. It may have been luck, but that's what I've found has worked for me.

I have 3 - 5 farming groups working when I login, and as soon as they're home I re-send em straight away, no waiting. If the valley is long way off, it regenerates, if it's close it don't, medals come from all types at all distances. You just gotta keep it up and they will fall. The hardest part is finding lvl 9/10 valleys unoccupied with the right troop combo's (no archer + others valleys) but there's a very heavy concentration of players where I am at the moment.

I don't send my intel guy so can't comment on that.

Specific amounts of medals drop every 24hrs on a server. Say your server has 30,000 players and only 500 lion medals drop. You have 30,000 people farming for medals of that type or valleys and NPC's that might carry that medal. Your chances are going to be low for getting said medal.

The more people that require different medals the bigger variety of medals needed on your server the easier it is to get the medals you need. Why? Because only a certain amount of each type drop every 24hrs and only the most prolific farmers will get them before everyone else.
I have seen more medals drop straight after maintenance, where there were none before it, but I have scored zilch straight after maintenance, and they've dropped later on that day, and dropped just before maintenance too.

Best medal guide ever - period.
