The Road to Ruin is Paved With Good Intentions
So we are getting close to that time of year again when people make open declarations of the things they intend to change or improve in their lives.
I'm talking New Year's Resolutions here people.
It's a quaint ritual and not one that I usually participate in, but if you go to any New Year's Eve party there is almost always somebody who wants to know what yours are. So what are your New Year's resolutions going to be then?
If you post them here, it may be a great motivator to follow through with them. After all, the resolutions made on the night in a party atmosphere tend to last a shorter time than the hangover that follows.
This will at least be a semi-permanent record of the promises you made to yourself.
I will kick off then.
Next year I will:
try to get outside more and get some exercise (or at least think about it sometimes);
read some more books (easy one
);
avoid getting perma-banned from these forums (may be a bit harder).
That's about all I can think of, at least as far as those I might actually keep. I could go on about losing weight, giving up smoking, drinking less, saving more money. All of those would be doomed to failure so it would be a waste of time making them.
So what are your New Year's resolutions?
