Somewhat related... when putting your hero attack in the formula for troop training (Training Time = BaseTime*(0.9^MS)*(0.995^Atk))... Do you always round down to get the seconds, or is normal rounding used?

Rounding is used. I put it all into an excel spread sheet (was tired of figuring out resource cost and que time of troops), and did a little experimenting. It seems to always round down, even if it is say 5.9 seconds, it rounds to 5. I did catch a little blip though. Using that formula, and only for instant troops, the formula was off just slightly. You would need 3-5 more points than what was projected, making me thing it rounds up until you finally drop below .5 seconds.
Thanks, I already prepped my cities for another second off my archer time, and luckily if 2.95 or whatever counts as 2s, then I'll be there right on schedule.
I put together an extension of DC Jerboa's excellent table, showing the required attack level for a hero equipped with Excalibur:
- Worker: 457
- Warrior: 346
- Scout: 568
- Pikeman: 632
- Swordsman: 697
- Archer: 768
- Cavalry: 824
- Cataphract: 1000
- Transporter: 935
- Ballista: 1111
- Battering Ram: 1175
- Catapult: 1221
Sorry I'm not great with putting tables in a post; also someone else will have to verify the numbers, since I'm still working on getting a hero high enough to make instant warriors.
But as you can see, adding an Excalibur makes instant troops much more attainable.

Uhh... no?
The table is correct as it is attack not level. Excal adds to your attack so still follow the original table.
lol the image was doctored. I had to move iron there to be able to make the full amount of warriors. To avoid letting others know what resources I had there, I photoshopped the image. I also have never had 2million warriors... I had about 22k at that point, and simply photoshopped the number. My real resources and troops are, after all, irrelevant to what I was trying to show.

Yep, that's correct Deni, it's nice to have it easily accessible like Monk provided it, but if anybody doesn't want to take his word for it, just multiply the needed attack by .8 to account for the 25% boost of excallol
^^Look Ma, Voulkos' first siggy done outside of MS Paint!!
