There seems to be continued misunderstanding about what moderators can and can't do in these forums.
Let me try to explain it.
The average moderator on these forums is a volunteer who gives their time freely to moderate these forums.
As such they are given some special permissions that relate only to these forums.
They do not get any special training in relation to technical issues or game mechanics.
They do not have a direct line of contact to the game developers or customer service departments.
They are expected to moderate these forums with the purpose of keeping them free from unwanted material, such as flaming, spamming, racial, sexual, religious or political material and personal attacks against other members.
They are also required to remove a phenomenon known as spam bots. These are automated advertising bots that are disguised as normal members and can be quite difficult to spot some times.
They are also required to respond to reports made by members against posts that the reporting member feels are out of line.
It's a fairly thankless task that can require hundreds of decisions to be made, and at times, very rapid responses. Most of the active moderators do their job very well and still manage to find time to try to help out in ways that most of us don't see, from responding to pm's to passing on problems to those who are able to deal with them, to discussing ways to improve the forums for the members (you and me).
Forum moderators can't do anything to enforce rules in the game as they are just normal players like the rest of us. They can't help you get a refund or fix a server that is offline. They don't produce the advertisements or write the system mails for special offers.
So next time you feel like blaming the moderators for everything that is grieving you about Evony, perhaps you might think about this post and reconsider what you were about to say.
One last thing.
Johnny One-Post coming onto the forums and sounding off in an obnoxious manner about some problem (real or imagined) will tend to get a poor response. It pays to make an effort to post in a calm and understandable way, after checking to see if the issue you have is not already being discussed elsewhere.
