I think the devs have ensured that new players will become a thing of the past as they quickly find they are only cannon fodder for those shelling out the big bucks to play.

yes and no. Although i wouldent dream of saying buying coins wont give someone an advantage, it dosent make the player. I have only spent 10$ on game coins (and just rolled the wheel a bunch basically getting nothing worthwhile lol), but i am the number one ranked player on the server. My prestige doubles that of any other player on the server, and my army is most likely 4-7 times bigger then any other player on the server can field. So I really do not agree about how people who dont dish out hundreds or thousands to play cannot compete, because currently im not competing, im smashing anything and anyone I so desire and when i do finally find some bases with level 10 buildings, they will have a tough time stopping me from taking the base from them when my army is greater in numbers and better or equal in technology.

P.S i think people should buy some game coins, it supports the game. Thats why i did it, dont be cheap...support the game your enjoying so you can continue to play it.

I couldn't agree more, but I also think there is going to be a growing issue of new players not being able to get a quick enough edge against established players. I know personally I count down the days for when cities around me get off protection. But I don't think people shelling out money for items ruins any part of the game. The items might be powerful but they are very pricey.
