Exactly, it all comes down to the wording. It says "Send a free gift to your friends!" but when they claim the gift they can't open it. It doesn't matter though because people still buy them. Evony made almost $700 off of my alliance alone and we don't have a lot of big cent buyers in our alliance. I can only imagine how much they made from the bigger alliances.

Those who ask for rep do not deserve rep.

Some alliances hold up 100 members! My god, let's do the multiplication mathematics ... *shake head* A very frightening business model.
Steady .. steady .. hold it .. BOMB GONE!

one must admit it is some creative marketing and as stated evony does need coin to keep the servers running.

course they could fill your page on the sides with advertising, which i'm sure is the next step, but alas.

can you just imagine how the ads would create lag.

smile n be thankful that the developers are still trying to find creative ways to support our favorite game.

A person purchased $30 worth of cents. They then received a christmas package FREE and were able to send a special christmas package to a friend FREE.

Say a person purchased $30 worth of cents and a friend sent them a special package. They would then have received:

    1. Christmas package worth $15 FREE
    2. Special christmas package FREE
    3. Buff FREE
    4. A friend has a buff for FREE too
    5. A friend has a special christmas package FREE too

So for $30 worth of cents, that is one of our most comprehensive packages for free we have ever given out. A total of five items (3 of which a purchaser would obtain for themselves, 2 for others).

You didn't purchase $30 worth of cents? You still obtained the buff free.
Would you mind if i edited my post with your quote? it'd make the thread much better if it were more accurate.

I again emplore you to provide those of us on Server N4 with the same opportunities as the rest of the Evony Community to enjoy the same number of total potential days as the rest of the Evony Community.

Due to concurrent running "Milk and Cookies" and "Server Merge" no food consumption, players on server N4 (formerly 15 and 16), had the potential for 3 fewer days than the rest of the Evony Community.

    Examples:

    Servers 15 and 16:
    12/23 : Milk and Cookies (1 day)
    12/24 - 12/27 : Server Merge (3 days)
    12/27 - 12/28 @ 00:00:00 (partial day)
Total for servers 15 and 16 (now N4) = 5 days of no food consumption

Prior servers that merged (with the possible exception of N3) and future servers that will merge:

    12/23 - 12/28 @ 00:00:00 : Milk and Cookies (5 days)
Server Merge no food consumption : 3 Days
    Total = 8 days

Please provide customers and Evony Community members that play on server N4 with the same opportunities that the remainder of the Evony Community received.

    Thank you...

I agree with another poster. Its the wording of the adverts for these packages that is really getting up peoples noses and you just cant seem to grasp it. The packages ARE value for money, if you want to pay out to play the game. But the wording in some cases has been questionable.

The word 'gift' if looked up in a dictionary means 'a present' something given freely to a friend.

The dictionary definition does NOT say ' gift....something given to a friend that will partially be free, but will involve your friend paying out money for a key to open what the best part of the 'gift' is contained in'

Nor does being given a few 'gifts' by people involve needing to pay out the same amount to open each.

The wording of the original advertisement for the christmas package wasnt 'creative', it was downright misleading in the sense that it led people to believe that one purchase would mean that he key from it would open ALL 'gifts' recieved. The 'creative' part was calling it a 'gift' in the first place.
Hardly the christmas spirit or spirit of giving that is being rattled on about in the advertisements is it.

Hmmmm.....I must be missing something, I guess. Having played one or two different pc games over the years, I just can't see sinking $30 at a time into this one, for any package. However, I did grab a $5 package when they came out....and I'd probably get more if they were offered. In fact, I'd probably even spend $5 a month over the course of a year, for a total of $60....but I wouldn't spend $30 twice. Just psychology I suppose, but something to think about.

I got 2 of the buffs, and was more than happy with them. My war city was going through 8 mil/hr, so 2 days of no food use was huge for me (almost 400 mil worth of food savings in 1 city alone).

The other bonus packages were a nice gift to complement the coins..makes a war more interesting.
