Default Why do people think prestige matters?

Why do people think prestige matters?in my thinking that is only an unreasonable number.to me prestige only determines how much defences and troops u have built or how many building u have upgraded and downgraded but honor is what they should be basing this stuff on honor says what their army capability REALLY is and lol im leaving populaation out.....well that doesnt matter either LOL

well, these days, people purposely lose honor and honestly...

Do you attack a 100k prestige guy, or even scout him, if you have 2 bil prestige? Edit: (Knew I missed something!!) Not worth the effort. And vice versa... one will not attack a 2 bil guy and expect to win from 100k exp. I know this is the extreme of the scale. Deal with it. :P

But... he might be that one guy, who left and returned to his alliance 80 times and can topple you? Most likely not.

Prestige may or may not denote army strength. It may or may not designate a reasonable means to determine skill. It may or may not allow for hypothesis unto another's .... activity... etc.

However, chances are, one does NOT scout the guy 2 mil prestige above them. It may not count for much, but it counts for something.

And if a 2mil prestige guy just appeared next to you when it was a flat yesterday, it's something to worry about and send a mail to your host immediately. *lol*

I had that happen to me once on a goof-off server.

A guy with millions of prestige teleported a huge city next to my only two cities. I was at about 75k prestige at this point. I did not mail my host or ask for any help at all actually. I was never reinforced through the whole experience. He crushed my subcity, so I abandoned since there was very little there anyway. I won't go into detail about the next few days, but I will say that I stayed and he ported out. My city never rioted, never hit single digit loyalty.

    That was a fun week.

I feel this is an appropriate place to repeat one of my posts. Here goes:

My question to you is.. How can something be nothing? That aside..

Prestige in my personal opinion, is general measurement of everything you've done in Evony since your start of play. Everything from comforting, to NPC farming, to troop producing, to city structuring. It all builds prestige.

There are ways to lower it and deceive others, as well as build it slower yet outputting the same number of troops. That is called strategy. Something this game is all about. This makes the statistic itself less of an accurate measurement for everyone, nevertheless if you haven't been seen with say one city your whole prestige building gameplay.. it can very well be accurate.

Most of these big guys who teleported to my area are refugees of war. Lost every thing and starving. One sent me a mail and asked that he could loan some NPC and left in couple of days .. and to where ever now god knows *lol*

none of those numbers really matter, even troop size to a point. It is not how big you are but how well you use what you have. I have seen 500k prestige guys stomp those 2x's their prestige. I've seen 1.5+ million prestige players send the same troops over and over to lower ranking players, losing every time, but continuing with the same strategy till they had no more troops and then port all cities to avoid retaliatory attacks.

Honor is easy to gain and to dump... it indicates nothing. Population doesn't gauge strength either.

And again, if you don't use at least a little bit of strategy when attacking, and all you do is throw troops mindlessly at the enemy's city... troop size will mean nothing either.

The best indicator of strength, and all that really matters, is the war reports

    Default In addition:

Activity is really the most paramount of anything one can do in Evony. It usually is in all games that are not real time and/or turn based. Even then, activity lends to the player rather than against the player.

    Knowledge is found or learned.
Skill is based off knowledge and experience.
    Experience is acquired through trial.
Trial is the result of various attempts.
Future attempts are based off logic.
Logic is gained through knowledge of the subject, skill exerted through experience and trials of the past to prevent future mishaps.

Activity allows all these things to further prosper the avid, and alert, player.
