i believe we do need control anywhere and everywhere. people die daily because others are not in control. the need for more things is no justification...the loss of peoples lives can never be justified...

im in a different country than usa or any other important/rich place so my opinion of things differ...but thats how it goes here...

No, there are no food shortages. There is plenty of food to go around. There is only unequal access and purchasing power.

EDIT: That was worded poorly....the point is that everyone could eat as much as they wanted, if we wanted everyone to eat.

have you seen people in africa or india?
the children are dying of hunger..they r poor and they do not have food coz they dont have money...
children there die evryday, they look like skeletons...

There are no such thing as food shortages anymore. It's a problem of equal access and availability.

You're not getting the point, Elana. It can't be called a food shortage, because there is not a shortage of food. If I wanted to, I could sell all my assets and buy tons of rice, get on a boat and go to Burundi and win an award.

But I don't. I'm greedy. I like keeping my money in the bank and my cabinet stuffed with food. Yes, there are people dying of starvation in the world. There are children in America dying because they are not eating. It's not a problem confined to the Third World. It's everywhere. Mankind produces more than enough food yearly to feed the world 3 or 4 times over.

But we don't. 'Cause we're greedy.
