Default Anyone tried a one city game long term?

It changes the dynamics quite a lot.....priorities shift, focus changes.....

It's also a bit of a stress buster from having 9 cities and armies to support (plus a free slot for obvious reasons).

    Getting a bit jaded?
try a one city strategy on a new server.....you may find it fun

Yes but if you only have one city then you lose out in the long run.
We may have the same prestige but I will most likely have 10 times the troops and resources than you do plus the ability to hammer you from 80 rally spots because I have 8 citys. So there are many negatives too.

You may well be able to hammer a one city player, but you'll never take their city......

There's a certain amount of satisfaction and yes, almost smugness in knowing that

I tried the 1-city approach for several weeks and enjoyed it. I did have a smaller army, but then with good defense and strategy, you only need a small fraction of your attacker's army anyway. It is a strategy I expect to return to at some point in the future, as my hero's attack level grows to the point where 150+ barracks are no long required.

    I enjoy the 1-city approach.

    What is your IGN?

Also, on 44, almost all of the top players are downsizing. I went down to four cities, and the #2 guy on our server has only have 1 city, and a massive army. My four cities include 1 lumber, 1 iron, and 2 remodeled lv. 10 npcs. It's pretty much the only way to survive. You can barely GIVE cities away, unless you give them to small players.

Once I was forced into having one city when my alliance went up against the #1 alliance in the server. I went out of town for two weeks and came back to only one city (thankfully one I could live with) and my town surrounded by four cities of an enemy alliance member, rank 3 on the server.

I ran one city for over a month. Almost got 0ed a few times, but hung in there.

I was forced to play a one city game a while ago on a seventies server but that was only because of all the inactive towns around me. It wasn't much fun because I also couldn't build any npc's so it was pretty limiting. In the end I gave up playing that server.

If done right even 1 city can have a big Army
